About The Doctors
Dr. Gerald J. Agasar
I am a second generation Chiropractor who has been practicing in Newtown, PA since February of 1982. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to serve many people over these years. I enjoy a general practice caring for young children all the way to my most senior patient who is 100 years old. Yes, that is correct. She has a great attitude on life and understands the importance of living the Chiropractic Wellness Lifestyle. She receives Chiropractic care regularly.
Since I personally live a very active life, (playing tennis, ice hockey and competing with my three children,) I tend to attract many patients who suffer from sports related injuries. Our office sees the typical crisis patient suffering from low back pain, neck pain, headaches, as well as pinch nerves into the arms and legs. However our main goal at Agasar Chiropractic is not to treat injuries but to prevent them, which is a little more challenging. We educate our patients everyday on the importance of maintaining a Chiropractic Healthy Lifestyle. By eating right, exercising regularly and very importantly thinking right. A Positive attitude is very important to keeping our bodies healthy and strong. We want the public to know that maintaining a healthy nervous system is the backbone to all wellness. The nervous system is the master system of the body. It controls and regulates every organ and cell in our body. So we want our patients to understand the importance of getting their spines checked regularly to minimize nerve interference and maximize their health.
Some personal information about me: I am active in my community. I have been a Rotary Club member since 1983. I have had the honor to be selected “Rotarian of the Year” in 2005. I sponsor many youth teams in both Newtown and Holland. I enjoy the opportunity to coach my sons and daughter in different sports. What a joy!My children and I attend Grace Point Church in Newtown regularly.
Speaking of children, I am the proud father of, Andrew (1989),Alexandra (1993), and Michael (1997). They each enjoy many sports: golf, tennis, skiing, soccer, football, and basketball! We all love to compete, even at miniature golf.
One last comment: at our office you should experience one thing if nothing else, a very positive environment. Customer service is very important to us. We may not be able to help you with your personal condition but we want you to enjoy a positive experience while you’re being cared for, so you will feel comfortable referring others to our office. If you have any questions about me, chiropractic or your health, please do not hesitate to call us. I hope you’re enjoying a great day!!
DR. JERRY J. AGASAR, SR
My father graduated Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1951. Yes, that is correct! He has been practicing for over 55 years. Wow! And he still enjoys interacting and caring for people. My father is a testament to living the Chiropractic Healthy Lifestyle. He’s still very active and plays softball 2X a week in the spring and fall. He exercises regularly with his “gym rat” friends, all grandparents 3X per week.
After serving in the army during the Korean War he started his practice in North Philadelphia in the Hunting Park section in 1955. He opened a second practice in the suburbs in Hatboro in 1968. He retired from active practice in 1996, but he enjoyed covering for me when I attended seminars or traveled on vacation. So he didn’t hesitate to join our office part-time when I moved to my larger facility in 2001. He helps see patients on Monday and Tuesday evening and we have lots of fun on Saturday mornings.
Dad has 5 children. Three boys and two girls and has 12 grandchildren. My brother, Joseph, is also a chiropractor and practices in Warminster, PA. My brothers and I all enjoyed sports and my dad was the unofficial chiropractor for the Upper Moreland Little League and the Willow Grove Yellow Jackets football program. He also followed us to Archbishop Wood High School where all three played football and our younger sister was the captain of the baton twirlers. My father was such an influence on the football players at Archbishop Wood that three other players from the 1974 team became chiropractors along with my brother and I . He also served with the Villanova University Football Program as the official chiropractor in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. During that time he enjoyed caring for many world class athletes in track, basketball and football.
When you meet my father, even at his age, you will feel his passion for chiropractic and people. Please come in and meet him!
